I don’t like the term “explainer video” – partly because “explainer” doesn’t sound like a real word, and also becauser folk assume it has to be a sped up hand drawing a naff cartoon.
This job was sweet. The brief was to explain what the app did in as short a time possible without a voice-over. Fortunately the process was very clear with distinct steps. And the client was happy to tell the story without elaboration (…elaboration is what a website is for).
The only change was to dial back the hipster in the hero character… fair enough!
