Is it OK to design the look of an app that you wouldn’t dream of using yourself? Well… I did.
The app harvests your photos and your friend’s photos from Facebook and Instagram. Then you focus on something in the photo and tag it with a “mote”, which is a preset emotional response like “cool” or “LOL” or “sexy”. The app aggregates the motes and ranks them… Ho hum.
Solving the UI issues, particularly the way you identify and select specific elements in a photo, is what interested me. And getting paid, of course. Otherwise if was for kids… who downloaded it in their tens of thousands, but only used it for a week or so. Commercially, it bombed.
